Protecting Your Data

Operating on the premise of least privilege logical access control, security measures at Phoenix NAP stress a mixture of technology and onsite personnel to maintain a visibly present, highly effective system. Designed to meet the data security needs of large-scale financial and banking organizations, the systems in place at Phoenix NAP can help clients take a step toward meeting their own specific requirements.

In fact, Phoenix NAP is both a PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) validated services provider, and also a SAS 70 Type I certified facility.

Multifaceted Approach

The front entrance to the datacenter is always locked, and the lobby security station is staffed 24/7/365 by guards. Following a check-in procedure, visitors are issued a security badge with a temporary profile and a label with their photo on it.

Highly trained security guards staff the Phoenix NAP front lobby 24/7/365.
After the initial check-in, visitors are accompanied through a secure door, and proceed toward the mantrap. Phoenix NAP's mantrap includes door detectives that allow only one person to pass through at a time, with any abnormal activity setting off an alarm and triggering guards to respond. It also utilizes three-factor authentication that includes a badge reader, PIN entry pad, and iris scanner.

The overall approach to security and the systems in place ensure Phoenix NAP has 100% accountability for everyone on the datacenter floor at all times.

Access Control

The mantrap controls access to our datacenter floor through multi-factor authentication systems.
Another major component of Phoenix NAP security is the provisioning of access. For instance, a NOC services technician may be able to enter our secure meet-me room, but not enter the secure cross-connect room. By establishing this level of controlled access, we can ensure all equipment in our facility – whether it is client racks or a carrier's networking servers – are only accessible by those that require it.
